Newcastle Falcons have secured the services of promising hooker Ollie Fletcher for the next two seasons, as the 22-year-old commits his future to the club where he developed through the academy ranks.
Fletcher, a former England Under-20 international, featured in 24 first-team matches last season, scoring three tries and raising his overall tally to six tries from 36 senior appearances.
Known for his strong work ethic and consistent performances, Fletcher has become a key part of the Falcons’ forward pack.
Expressing his pride in continuing with his hometown club, Fletcher said, “I’m incredibly proud to re-sign at my boyhood club.
"It’s a promising time for rugby in the North East, and I’m excited to keep developing and be part of this club’s journey moving forward.”
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond praised the young hooker’s progress and attitude, stating, “Ollie is a homegrown lad who had a lot of Premiership exposure last season.
"He’s a talented player, he’s got a great attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing his continued development.”
