Northampton Saints ran a six try riot as they outplayed London Irish with 25-40 triumph in their Aviva Premiership clash at Madejski Stadium on Sunday.

Nic Groom (1'), Rob Horne (5' and 25'), Mikey Haywood (31') were the try scorers for the Northampton Saints in the first half while Harry Mallinder slotted three conversions to take the visitors to 26 points at half time.

London Irish's response came only through Tommy Bell, who managed two penalties as the home side trailed by 20 points leading into the second half.

Even though London Irish showed greater intent in the second half with a touchdown from Alex Lewington in the 48th minute, his efforts were negated by George North as Northampton Saints maintained their 20 point lead at the end of the third quarter.

Bell and Josh McNally had further tries for London Irish but their efforts were enough as Northampton registered their third victory on the trot with their sixth touchdown coming from Cobus Reinach.

Northampton Saints move third in the table while London Irish are positioned 11th with a solitary win from four games.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.
