New Zealand Rugby has officially announced the nominees for the prestigious All Black Player of the Year award, recognizing standout contributions during a memorable 2024 season.

The shortlist features four players who have made significant impacts on the field this year:

  • Ardie Savea: The dynamic No.8 has been a cornerstone for the All Blacks, showcasing unparalleled leadership and consistency. Savea’s ability to dominate in both attack and defense has been instrumental throughout the season.
  • Richie Mo’unga: The flyhalf's precision and playmaking skills have orchestrated numerous All Black victories, earning him recognition as one of the world’s premier No.10s.
  • Will Jordan: Known for his electrifying pace and finishing ability, Jordan’s performances have made him a crowd favorite, with tries that have often turned games in New Zealand’s favor.
  • Sam Whitelock: The veteran lock continues to lead by example, combining experience and technical mastery to bolster the All Blacks’ forward pack.

The All Black Player of the Year award is part of the broader New Zealand Rugby Awards, which celebrate the achievements of players and teams across all levels of the game. This accolade, however, holds special significance, as it honors the individual who has best embodied excellence in the iconic black jersey.

The winner will be announced at the upcoming awards ceremony, providing fans and players an opportunity to reflect on another remarkable year for New Zealand rugby.
