London Irish have appointed former Exiles player and Ireland international Bob Casey as the club's new chief executive as part of a senior management overhaul.

Casey played second row for London Irish for 10 years before retiring in 2012, captaining the side in that time, and he has also previously been the club's operations director.

The club will be divided into six departments - commercial, community, finance, marketing and communications, operations and rugby - as part of the re-structure, with an executive in each sector reporting to Casey.

Mick Crossan, president of London Irish, said in a statement on the club's website: " We're pleased that Bob Casey has accepted our invitation to become chief executive. Bob has proven his commitment to London Irish and his leadership expertise both as a player and as a director and we will be working with him and his team to restore this great club to its rightful place among Europe's leading clubs."
