Scarlets managed to hold off Zebre as they completed a thrilling 18-17 win in the fifth round of Pro14 at Parc y Scarlets on Sunday.

This is second win for Scarlets from five games as they are third in Conference B table while Zebre are at bottom of Conference A after losing their fourth match.

Ryan Conbeer, who replaced Tyler Morgan made impact straightaway as he made most of the pass from Johnny McNicholl to score the opening try in the sixth minute. As Antonio Rizzi and Angus O'Brien exchanged penalties in the next few minutes, Scarlets had a five-point lead in the opening quarter.

As the half-hour was approaching, Dane Blacker capitalised on a pass from to dot down and O'Brien improved it to make the scoreline 15-6 before Zebre reduced the gap down to six points with a three-pointer from Rizzi at the stroke of half-time.

The Italian side were the quickest to get off the block in the second half with another three-pointer from Rizzi before Pierre Bruno's try in the 55th minute made the scoreline 15-14.

Zebre took the lead for the first time in the game with Rizzi's penalty in the 74th minute but O'Brien responded back with a three-pointer of his own in the 77th minute to complete a thrilling one point victory for the Welsh regional side.
