The British & Irish Lions have named a strong, versatile lineup to face the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday, with head coach Andy Farrell selecting Blair Kinghorn at full-back and Hugo Keenan on the wing in what is being viewed as the clearest indication yet of the Lions' preferred backline heading into the Test series.

Kinghorn reclaims the No.15 jersey after missing the Reds match due to illness. The Scotland international brings a blend of counter-attacking threat and a booming boot that offers tactical coverage from deep.

Keenan, typically a starting full-back for Ireland, has been selected on the wing, highlighting his adaptability as Farrell continues to refine his combinations.

This lineup is the closest yet to a probable Test XV, especially in the backs. The half-back pairing of Finn Russell and Jamison Gibson-Park continues, with Bundee Aki and Huw Jones retained in midfield after strong showings against the Reds.

The front row of Porter, Kelleher, and Stuart also suggests a push toward consistency as the tour progresses.

“We’re trying to build cohesion now. These combinations need game time together, and we believe this group can deliver that intensity," said Farrell.

James Ryan, Tommy Reffell, and Ben White are among those named on the bench, providing serious impact options in both the pack and backline. Owen Farrell, newly called into the squad, is not included for this match but is expected to feature in the final warm-up game next week.

Lions XV: 15 Hugo Keenan, 14 Mack Hansen, 13 Huw Jones, 12 Sione Tuipulotu, 11 Blair Kinghorn, 10 Fin Smith, 9 Alex Mitchell, 8 Ben Earl, 7 Josh van der Flier, 6 Henry Pollock, 5 James Ryan, 4 Tadhg Beirne (c), 3 Finlay Bealham, 2 Luke Cowan-Dickie, 1 Pierre Schoeman
