Leinster have announced the signing of hooker Tadgh McElroy on a short-term contract.

Having played for Saracens, Bristol Bears and Ealing Trailfinders previously, McElroy was part of London Irish over the last few seasons.

He went on to impress for Leinster 'A' side where he scored a hat-trick against the Connacht 'A' side and Cullen is pleased to have the services of the former Ireland Under 20 international.

“Tadgh has performed really well over a number of games with the ‘A’ team," said Cullen to the club's official website.

“He’s a good addition to the squad over the next few months and has taken his chance well over the last few games and we wish him well.”

Meanwhile, the club in a statement also provided an update on Caelan Doris, who is available for selection after completing a successful return to play protocol.

Dave Kearney, who picked up an adductor injury against Ulster Rugby and Jack Conan, who is sidelined with a back injury will be assessed ahead of the weekend's game.

Leinster currently are at the top of the United Rugby Championship table with four wins from as many games.
