Leicester Tigers have confirmed the appointment of Huw Bevan as their new Head of Rugby Operations.

Bevan will arrive at Mattioli Woods Welford Road before the end of the year, leaving his role as Interim Performance Director at the Welsh Rugby Union, which he has held since April 2023.

The Welshman brings extensive experience in high-performance sport, having previously worked with USA Rugby, the Ospreys, Newport Gwent Dragons, and both the England and Wales Cricket Boards.

Speaking about his move, Bevan said: “I’m delighted to be joining Leicester Tigers — it is a brilliant opportunity for anyone working in elite sport.

"There wouldn’t be many other jobs that would make me want to leave Wales, but this is one of the great clubs with a rich rugby history. I’m looking forward to supporting their evolution.”

Head coach Geoff Parling welcomed the appointment, describing Bevan as “a key figure” in helping to build foundations for future success.

"Welcome to Huw, who I’m looking forward to working with to help build some solid foundations for success.

"I knew that this would be a key appointment so it’s great to get someone of his calibre and personality at Leicester.”
