Lancaster, Dickson, Tomkins Preview Australia Match

Watch as England coach Stuart Lancaster as well as players Lee Dickson and Joel Tomkins preview this weekend's November international against Australia.

Tomkins will be making his England debut at outside centre while Dickson has been preferred to Ben Youngs at scrum-half.

Lancaster says that the Northampton man has been selected because he is in better form than Leicester's Youngs.

"I think form has always been the overriding factor in selection for me to be honest. Lee Dickson's got a lot of credit in the bank with me, this is his tenth cap now in about 18 internationals I've been involved with," he said.

"At the start of the season in a competitive position, he's the one that's really shined for me so, difficult decision for me because we've got quality scrum halves in Danny Care and Ben Youngs but on form, and form along, I think Lee nudges it."

Lying in wait for Dickson will be a battle with one of the greatest, if not the greatest scrum-halves in the game today in Will Genia, and he is looking forward to going toe-to-toe with the Australian.

"I'm really excited, it's going to be a great challenge, going up against Will Genia, a world class player. You always want to go out there and play against world class players and I'm massively excited by it.

"I've got to worry about my game and what I want to impose on the game. My job is to get the forwards ticking and to getting the ball to Faz's (Owen Farrell) hands as early as possible so that's what I'm looking to do."

Meanwhile, it's been a busy week for the Tomkins family with Joel's brother Sam representing England in the Rugby League World Cup against Australia.

He was told he was playing earlier this week and says that playing for England was why he made the switch from league to union.

"It was awesome, it was on Wednesday," he said. "Stuart got everyone one-on-one and told them his selection this weekend and I was hoping I would get the nod and when he told me I was starting it was brilliant. This is the reason I came to rugby union, to play for England, and it was a great feeling.

Asked about whether his parents would be present to see his England debut, he confirmed that they would indeed be heading to London.

"Yeah they are (going to be at Twickenham), Sam (Tomkins) played against the Aussies last week in Cardiff so everyone went to watch him last week so this week they're going to make the journey down to Twickenham. They'll all be there on Saturday."
