Kobus van Wyk handed early release by Leicester Tigers

Leicester Tigers have confirmed that wing Kobus van Wyk has been granted an early release from his contract.

The former South Africa Under 20 international joined the Tigers in 2020 and has gone on to make 18 appearances for them since then.

He also has the experience of representing Stormers, Bordeaux Begles, Sharks and Hurricanes in the past.

Leicester Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick thanked the 30-year-old for his contribution to the club.

“I want to thank Kobus for his contribution to our club during his time in Leicester," he told the club's official website.

“He joined us at the start of this journey we are on and has played a part in building the foundations for what is to come at Tigers.

“I wish him and his family all the best for the next chapter."

Leicester Tigers are at the top of the Gallagher Premiership table with 17 wins from 20 games and will have their next game on 23rd April when they face Harlequins at Twickenham Stoop.
