Jonny May replaces Anthony Watson in England's World Cup squad

England head coach Steve Borthwick has included winger Jonny May in the 33-man Rugby World Cup squad.

May, who scored England's opening try in the defeat to Fiji on Saturday will replace Anthony Watson, who is ruled out of the tournament with a calf injury.

Scrum-half Alex Mitchell is also included in the squad as a replacement for injured Jack van Poortvliet.

Elliot Daly missed the warm-up game against Fiji with a knee injury while wing Henry Arundell is recovering from a back spasm with Borthwick expecting both the players to be fit for the 9th September encounter.

England skipper Owen Farrell will miss the first two games of the tournament against Argentina and Japan due to a suspension while Billy Vunipola is also ruled out of the encounter against the Pumas.
