Joe Launchbury suspended for two weeks after kicking incident

Wasps lock Joe Launchbury will miss the remaining fixtures of England's autumn internationals after he was handed a two-week ban for a kicking incident involving Fiji centre Asaeli Tikoirotuma.

The incident occurred in the 42nd minute of the game and replays showed Launchbury's foot in contact with with Tikoirotuma's head at a ruck even though it looked accidental.

The 25-year-old appeared before international disciplinary panel on Monday afternoon following which he was sanctioned a two-week ban.

A statement released by the international disciplinary confirmed that the sanction handed to Launchbury was on the low end considering his admission of guilt and his past track record.

Launchbury was instrumental in setting up England's 58-15 win over Fiji at Twickenham last weekend with a double try performance.
