Connacht have announced that tighthead prop Jack Aungier has signed a two-year contract extension with the Irish province.

Aungier was a product of Leinster's academy and went on to make his club debut in 2019 during the Pro 14 fixture against Dragons.

He made a shift to Connacht in 2020 making 63 appearances across four seasons.

Aungier will now remain with Connacht until at least 2026.

"We've been really happy with Jack's progression over the last few seasons," said Wilkins to the club's official website.

"He has benefitted from regular game-time and has a high ceiling to become a top-class prop.

"With him, Finlay and Sam all contracted next season we'll have excellent depth at tighthead which will drive strong competition for selection."

Connacht are positioned ninth in the United Rugby Championship table with seven wins from 12 matches.
