Wales have named captain Jac Morgan in an extended 48-man squad for this summer’s fixtures, with six uncapped players also included by head coach Steve Tandy.
Morgan’s return is a major boost after the flanker missed the entire 2026 Six Nations through injury.
Jac Morgan Back For Wales Summer Fixtures
Morgan has been recalled after making his comeback for Ospreys in March following the shoulder injury that ruled him out of the Six Nations.
His return strengthens Wales ahead of a summer schedule that begins with a non-cap match against the Barbarians before Nations Championship fixtures against Fiji, Argentina and South Africa.
Max Llewellyn and Teddy Williams are also back in the wider group after missing the Championship through injury.
Six Uncapped Players Named By Steve Tandy
The six uncapped players in the squad are Rhys Barratt, Kane James, Harrison Keddie, Ryan Woodman, Ben Warren and Bryn Bradley. Exeter back-rower Kane James is one of the most eye-catching names after previously playing for England Under-20s in 2024.
Wales Build Depth Ahead Of Nations Championship
Wales will begin their summer with the Barbarians fixture at Allianz Stadium on 27 June before attention turns to the Nations Championship.
Tandy said the larger squad was necessary because players would become available at different times, while also allowing the coaches to focus on conditioning, skill development and linking the wider group to Wales’ game model.
Tomas Francis has been given the summer off with long-term planning in mind, while Archie Griffin misses out due to surgery.
