England wing Henry Arundell has reentered national contention, earning a call-up to Steve Borthwick’s summer training squad following his imminent move back to the Premiership with Bath.
The 22-year-old, who has played 10 tests and scored seven tries—including a five-try haul against Chile at the 2023 World Cup—had been sidelined from selection due to the RFU’s overseas player rule while representing France’s Racing 92.
With his switch to Bath confirmed on a three-year deal starting 2025/26, Arundell is once again eligible for England.
The winger’s availability coincides with England’s four-day preparation camp ahead of fixtures against a France XV and a tour to Argentina and the USA during July.
Born in Cyprus and raised in Bath, Arundell will officially return to his hometown club next season. He described the move as a “very special” moment for his family, who have supported the club for years. His impending arrival adds potency to Bath’s back-three, signaling the club’s ambition as they chase Premiership honours.
Joining a 36-player squad, most from clubs not involved in the Premiership final or the British & Irish Lions tour, Arundell is set to work alongside Steve Borthwick’s selectors.
His national return comes after a 20-month absence and follows a standout career in England colours, highlighted by that record-equalling performance against Chile.
Arundell flourished early in his test career with impressive finishing and raw talent.
His stint with Racing, though limiting national appearances, offered valuable development under coaches like Stuart Lancaster, adding tactical depth and finesse to his thunderous pace. Returning to Bath and England, he now looks poised to claim a long-term role.
The current camp will feed directly into England’s summer fixtures, including a showdown with France XV on 21 June, followed by two tests in Argentina and a final match in Washington DC.
