France delivered a crushing performance against Brazil in their Pool D fixture at the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, running out 84–5 winners at Sandy Park in Exeter.
From the opening whistle to the final try, Les Bleues were relentless, scoring thirteen tries and converting seven, while Lina Queyroi dominated the kicking duties and contributed a try of her own.
The game began with an early surge from France. Emilie Boulard got things rolling in the 5th minute with a well-finished try, which Lina Queyroi converted to give France a 7–0 lead.
Just two minutes later, Marie Morland powered through for another score, and Queyroi again added the extras. Pauline Bourdon Sansus crossed the line in the 12th minute, with Queyroi maintaining her perfect record from the tee, making it 21–0 within just 13 minutes.
France didn’t let up. Kelly Arbey scored in the 16th minute before Annaëlle Deshaye added her name to the scoresheet in the 22nd. Marine Ménager, always a threat on the wing, touched down in the 27th minute.
Lina Queyroi then turned scorer with a try in the 32nd minute before Séraphine Okemba joined the party in the 35th. Queyroi converted again in the 36th minute to push France to 47–0. Just before the break, Ménager claimed her second try in the 41st minute, capping a dominant half with France leading 53–0.
The onslaught continued in the second half. Séraphine Okemba secured her brace in the 43rd minute. Emilie Boulard then added her second try in the 56th, followed by another conversion from Queyroi. Nassira Konde joined the scoresheet in the 59th minute, with Queyroi again converting in the 60th to make it 72–0.
Brazil, however, found a silver lining. In the 64th minute, Bianca Silva etched her name into history by scoring Brazil’s first-ever Women’s Rugby World Cup try, a moment of pride that sparked emotional celebrations on and off the field.
France returned to scoring soon after, with Lina Tuy scoring in the 67th minute and Queyroi adding the conversion. Kelly Arbey sealed the night with her second try in the 69th minute, bringing the final tally to 84–5.
