Bristol's England prop Ellis Genge will be facing a disciplinary hearing after he was cited following the recently concluded Gallagher Premiership game against Sale Sharks.

Genge was sin-binned in the 54th minute of the game after his left shoulder appeared to make contact with the head of Sale's Tom Curry.

Referee Luke Pearce deemed the tackle was not highly dangerous after viewing a number of replays on the incident.

He will now appear before an independent disciplinary hearing which will take place on Tuesday.

If proved guilty, the 28-year-old could face between a two-week ban which is the starting point for a low grade offence with a mid-range offence carrying a suspension of six matches.

The match also saw Bristol succumbing to a 20-36 defeat as they are at eighth place in the Premiership table.
