Fijian Drua have unveiled their five new signings ahead of the 2022 season of the Super Rugby Pacific.

The news was announced by the club's interim chief executive Brian Thorburn on Monday with Napolioni Bolaca, who won the gold with Fiji at this year´s Tokyo Games is among the new signees and is expected to provide cover flyhalf, fullback and winger.

Tevita Ikianevere, who made his debut for Fiji in the game against Georgia has also signed a two-year contract with Bay of Plenty province winger Onisi Ratava, backrower Nemani Nagusa and scrumhalf Simioni Kuruvoli joining him.

A further list of 32 players is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

"We´re steaming ahead towards our historic first season and today´s naming signals our intentions," Thorburn said.

"We are going to delight rugby fans with that typical Fijian flair and playing style.

"It also underscores our commitment to offer a pathway for Fijian players into Super Rugby. The competition is about to get a whole lot more exciting."

Fiji Rugby's General Manager of the High Performance Unit, Simon Raiwalui also confirmed that 27 players have been offered contract with 20 already confirmed their availability after signing the deal.

The squad is expected to travel to Australia on 15th October and will undergo 14 days of quarantine before they kick-start their pre-season in November.
