England coach Eddie Jones has recalled Saracens centre Owen Farrell in the start line-up for the upcoming autumn international clash against Australia at Twickenham.

Farrell, who was rested for the game against Argentina will replace Henry Slade at centre. Bath wing Anthony Watson switches to full-back with Mike Brown missing out due to a concussion while Jonny May has recovered from his hamstring injury to make it to the starting XV.

Maro Itoje was also rested against Argentina and must now settle for a place among the replacements, while Joe Launchbury is selected as Courtney Lawes' second row partner after George Kruis was dropped.

"I have selected the strongest 23 to play Australia and we will have to be effective in everything we do this weekend to win," said Jones.

Joe Marler, who returned to the squad after serving three-week suspension period also finds a place among the replacements for the Saturday's encounter.

"This is going to be a great challenge, as we know Australia have been in great form towards the end of their season," Jones said.

"The players have had an extremely positive week. They have trained well and worked hard and we are all excited about going out on Saturday and playing well against a very good Australian side."

England line-up to face Australia: Watson, May, Joseph, Farrell, Daly; Ford, Youngs; M Vunipola, Hartley, Cole; Launchbury, Lawes; Robshaw, Underhill, Hughes.

Replacements: George, Marler, Williams, Itoje, Simmonds, Care, Slade, Rokoduguni.
