France head coach Fabien Galthie is expecting a stiff contest against an in-form Scotland side as the two teams lock horns with each other in the third round in Paris on Sunday.

Scotland are one of the two teams in the tournament after Ireland to register two wins from as many games taking them to a second position in the table.

First they stunned Steve Borthwick's England with a 29-23 win at Twickenham Stadium and followed it with a convincing 35-7 victory over Wales at Murrayfield in the second round.

Meanwhile, France suffered a setback in the second round with a defeat to Ireland in Dublin and will be looking to return back to winnings ways as they aim to retain the title.

"There is going to be two magnificent players facing each other," Galthie told reporters on Thursday.

"Sunday we'll see the best in rugby.

"A sold-out stadium, music, the sound, pyrotechnics, we're not going to be bored at the Stade France.

"It will be a spectacle".

The game will also see two of the finest fly-halves Finn Russell and Romain Ntamack crossing against each other and Galthie feels the spectators are in for a treat.

"Russell will try and contribute, with his style of play and the confidence he has in himself at the moment," he added.

"I think Romain will also bring his know-how, potential and motivation".
