England assistant coach Richard Wigglesworth did not rule out the possibility of playing Owen Farrell, George Ford and Marcus Smith in the same line up at the Rugby World Cup.

Skipper Farrell, whose suspension was overturned missed the opening two games of England against Argentina and Japan but is now available for the upcoming pool match against Chile this weekend.

In Farrell's absence, George Ford had been impressive at fly-half kicking all 27 points in their win over the Pumas and followed with four conversions and two penalties in the game against the Brave Blossoms.

Speaking about the possibility of playing Ford at fly-half, Farrell at inside centre and Smith at fullback, Wigglesworth said: "It's not unthinkable.

"If you have absolute runners around them and that is their skill set and their talent, you want to upskill as many guys as possible to be able to make sure they are seeing the picture early and execute," said Wigglesworth.

"I don't think it's unthinkable to have three ball players in a backline, but it would be the balance of what is around them.

"You have guys like Elliot Daly who can do both - he's a runner and can spot space and pass.

"You want your balance to be right, but definitely not unthinkable."

England are positioned at the top of Pool D with nine points and will be facing Chile and Samoa in their final two matches of the group.
