England head coach Steve Borthwick has recalled Jack van Poortvliet in the 19-man training squad ahead of the upcoming summer series.

This will be the first time van Poortvliet has been included in the squad since an ankle injury ruled him out of last year's World Cup and the Six Nations tournament this year.

Greg Fisilau and Rusi Tuima have been called up to the squad for the first time but Ellis Genge has been sidelined by a calf injury along with Ollie Chessum, who is also unavailable.

The squad does not contain players from Northampton Saints, Saracens, Bath and Sale Sharks who will be competing in the Premiership play off next weekend.

England's summer series will kick-off with a clash against Japan at National Stadium on 22nd June followed by a two-Test series against New Zealand with the matches scheduled to be played in Dunedin and Auckland on 6th and 13th July respectively.
