New Zealand Rugby on Tuesday has confirmed the dates for the two Bledisloe Cup Tests at home to be played in October.

The opening game of the series will be played at Sky Stadium in Wellington on 11th October and the two teams will lock horns with each other for the second time on 18th October at Eden Park in Auckland.

The news follows after SANZAAR revealed that the Rugby Championship tournament will be played in Australia following restrictions in New Zealand.

As per the new restrictions, Australian players can train four days after reaching New Zealand provided all the squad members and staff test negative for Covid-19.

NZR chief executive Mark Robinson expressed delight on announcing the dates and thanked the government for the support.

“We’re delighted to lock in the dates and venues for the two home matches against Australia and look forward to seeing the Bledisloe Cup go on the line next month," he said.

“We acknowledge that this has been a complex and challenging puzzle to solve and we’re grateful that both rugby organisations, together with our Government, have come together to get these matches across the line.

“We’re also pleased that the All Blacks team and management now have certainty and can plan accordingly, and we wish them all the very best for the Bledisloe Cup campaign.”

The Rugby Championship tournament that will also involve South Africa and Argentina along with the Wallabies and the All Blacks is expected to play in November and December.
