Northampton Saints director of rugby Chris Boyd has confirmed that Wales international Dan Biggar will be available for the final round of the Gallagher Premiership game against Bath Rugby.

He was taken off the field during the previous round clash against Exeter Chiefs in the 61st minute after sustaining a knock to his chest.

Boyd affirmed that Biggar was replaced as a 'precautionary' move and the 31-year-old is set to be part of the Saturday's game at Recreation Ground.

"Dan was just a little bit sore," Saints boss Chris Boyd said.

"He's available for selection this weekend. It was precautionary as much as anything else."

The news will be a relief to the British and Irish Lions, who are waiting on the injury assessment to Sam Simmonds after the Exeter number eight sustained an ankle injury during the same at Franklin's Gardens.

Northampton will finish the ongoing Gallagher Premiership season at fifth place as they secured 11 wins from 21 games while Bath are at eighth place.
