Bordeaux Begles scored a 11-try riot as they trounced Agen 3-73 in the third round of the European Rugby Challenge Cup at Stade Armandie on Friday.

The win has taken Bordeaux to the top position in Pool 3 with 12 points while Agen are languishing at the bottom of the table after losing all the three games.

The visitors got off to a terrific start with Thierry Paiva crossing over in the third minute and Matthieu Jalibert followed with the conversion to make it 7-0. Even though Agen responded back immediately with a penalty goal from Raphael Lagarde but that remained their only points in the game.

Geoffrey Cros (14'), Lekso Kaulashvili (24'), Marco Tauleigne (32'), Seta Tamanivalu (38') and Matthieu Jalibert (40') all scored tries in the first half for Bordeaux. The fly-half also kicked five conversions before the break as Bordeaux claimed a 3-40 lead heading into the second half.

Bordeaux looked in total control of the game as they dominated the second half as well with further touchdowns from Nans Ducuing (42'), Romain Buros (54'), Cros (59' and 63') and Jean-Baptiste Dubie (73'). Jalibert kicked a solitary conversion in the second half while his replacement Ben Botica also slotted the extras on three occasions to ensure Bordeaux completed a 70 point victory.

The two teams will once again face each other in the fourth round of the tournament at Stade Chaban-Delmas on 14th December.
