Bevan Rodd and Sam Underhill axed from England's training squad

England head coach Steve Borthwick has left out Bath flanker Sam Underhill and Sale prop Bevan Rodd from the training squad as they step up the World Cup preparations.

The 39-member squad will gather at the Honda England Rugby Performance Centre, Pennyhill Park on Monday.

Underhill played a pivotal role in England's last World Cup campaign in Japan where they reached the final but has been marred with injuries recently.

The squad that has 33 forwards also sees Joe Marler part of it while Ollie Chessum, Ollie Lawrence, Mako Vunipola, Billy Vunipola and Jack Walker will continue their rehabilitation.

Borthwick is set to announce the final squad for the World Cup on 7th August.
