Allister Coetzee parts ways with Canon Eagles

Canon Eagles have confirmed that head coach Allister Coetzee has made an exit from the Japanese club with immediate effect.

Apart from Coetzee, forwards coach Barend Pieterse has also left the Tokyo based side along with nine players including fly-half Fred Zeilinga and lock Rynier Bernardo. as confirmed by the official website of the club.

Coetzee took in charge of Eagles in 2018 and on his maiden season the Japanese club finished 12th and in the ongoing season they were positioned ninth before it was cancelled following the pandemic coronavirus.

He had previously coached Springboks before he was sacked by the South African board in 2018 and had already coached Sharks, Stormers and Kobelco Steelers in his 22-year coaching career.
