Glasgow Warriors have announced the departure of Scotland international Allan Dell.

The experienced loosehead prop has left the club to pursue new opportunities, marking the end of his tenure at Scotstoun.

Dell, who joined the Warriors in 2022, made 17 appearances for the club across domestic and European competitions.

Known for his scrummaging strength and versatility, Dell contributed significantly to Glasgow’s front row during his time with the squad.

During his stint at Glasgow, Dell brought a wealth of international experience, having earned 38 caps for Scotland and represented the British and Irish Lions during their 2017 tour to New Zealand.

His technical ability and leadership on and off the field earned him the respect of teammates and coaches alike.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Franco Smith expressed his gratitude for Dell’s contributions.

“Allan has been a valued member of the squad during his time here.

"His professionalism and experience have been important to the team, and we wish him every success as he takes the next step in his career.”

Dell’s departure comes at a pivotal time for Glasgow Warriors, as the club continues to focus on developing its front-row options and integrating younger talent into the squad.

While the departure of such an experienced player presents a challenge, it also creates opportunities for emerging players to step up and fill the void.

Speaking about his departure, Dell reflected on his time at the club.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Glasgow Warriors and am grateful for the support from the coaches, players, and fans. I’m excited about what the future holds and look forward to the next chapter in my rugby journey.”
