All Blacks wing Sevu Reece will miss the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France following a knee ligament injury.

Reece sustained the injury while playing for his club Crusaders in the recently concluded Super Rugby game against the Blues which they went on to win 34-28.

He will now miss the remainder of the year as confirmed by Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson.

“Sevu’s out for the whole of the 2023 season,” said Robertson.

“He’s back in ’24.

“We really feel for him. He’s been incredible for us. It’s a big loss.

“A lot of work will get him back to where he was beforehand, being a world class wing.”

Reece made his All Blacks debut in 2019 and has featured for them in 23 Tests.

New Zealand's opening game of the Rugby World Cup will be against France scheduled to be played on 8th September in Saint-Denis.
