New Zealand have recalled scrum-half Aaron Smith in the squad for the upcoming games against Ireland and France as an injury replacement.
Smith opted out of the European tour as he was on a paternity leave but now has been recalled following an injury to Brad Weber as he suffered a head knock during the win over Italy.
“It was a short conversation [with his wife], she was like: ‘Go, it’s a great opportunity for you’,” Smith said in a video released on All Black social media channels.
“I’m very excited to come back and join the boys, they’re two very big games for the lads, which it’s very exciting to be a part of.
“I’m going in with no expectations of playing or anything but I’ll be doing my best to impact where I can.

Smith has played 101 Tests for the All Blacks since his international debut in 2012 and has also featured in 11 World Cup games that came during the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.
Having registered wins over USA, Wales and Italy, New Zealand will be facing Ireland and France on 13th and 20th November respectively.
