Wales will miss the services of flanker Aaron Shingler and back Ashton Hewitt for their upcoming summer tour due to injuries.

Hewitt, who was called up in the squad along with Aaron Wainwright and Rhodri Jones after Luke Charteris, Josh Adams and Tomas Francis were released from the squad sustained a shoulder injury during training with the squad on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Shingler left the field with a knee injury during the first half of the Pro 14 final between Scarlets and Leinster and has been replaced by Cardiff Blues' Josh Turnbull in Warren Gatland's squad.

Centre Scott Williams is also a doubtful starter for Wales' summer tour as he is nursing a shoulder problem.

"Scott is in the changing room now and we will have to chat with him," Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac said after the Pro14 final.

"I can't give you an update at the moment."

Wales will kick-start their summer tour with a clash against South Africa on 2nd June at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington following which they will face Argentina in a two-game series scheduled on 9th and 16th June at San Juan del Bicentenario Stadium and Estadio Brigadier López respectively.
