Aaron Mauger set to become head coach of Moana Pasifika - Report

Moana Pasifika is set to appoint former New Zealand international Aaron Mauger as the head coach ahead of the 2022 season of Super Rugby Pacific.

The official social media handle of the club said an announcement on the head coach will be made soon.

Earlier, former Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt was initially linked with the role but according to a report in the Stuff, the 56-year-old is firm on his stance to stay away from coaching to spend more time with his family.

Meanwhile, Mauger worked as an assistant coach with Crusaders and Samoa while also having in charge of Leicester Tigers and Highlanders.

The 40-year-old also was assistant coach of Moana Pasifika when they played Maori Blacks last year.
