Which Rugby Players would you take to the Football World Cup?

Although the majority of the sporting headlines over the next few months will be dominated by football and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, that doesn’t mean that rugby players cannot get in on the act.

To get into the spirit of the football World Cup that starts tonight with the first game between hosts Brazil and Croatia, we at Talking Rugby Union wanted to hear how you think rugby players would fair in Brazil?

Are there any that you think you would take onto the pitches in Rio? It brings us back to the age-old question of who would win between the England rugby and football teams in a game of two halves.

We at Talking Rugby Union, thanks to the help of QBE Rugby and Alex Payne, spoke to England coaches Graham Rowntree and Mike Catt about the crossover between football and rugby.

Of the present England rugby team, which players would you take to a football World Cup?

Would Courtney Lawes be your mine striker up-front in a Peter Crouch role? Would David Wilson and Dan Cole be your central defenders… we weren’t too sure!
