Talking Rugby Union and specialist lawnmower manufactures, Allett Mowers, have announced a partnership during this current Six Nations campaign.

The British owned company, which specialises in the design and production of precision single-cylinder lawnmowers, will become a commercial partner of TRU throughout the remainder of the RBS 6 Nations. The new alliance will see Allett Mowers offer a domestic range of mowers for private homeowners as well as continuing their work right at the very top level of sport.

Exports Sales Manager Dave Allett said: “We have two ranges of mowers which we offer. We have a professional range and these machines are sold to professional users like groundsmen at sportsgrounds, including rugby and football stadiums, cricket, bowls, stately homes and Royal Estates.

“Specifically relating to rugby, Allett machines are in use at Twickenham, Penny Hill Park Training Centre, Murrayfield, Vale Resort, the Welsh Training Centre, Hartpury College and the French National Training Centre at Marcoussis near Paris.

“We also have a domestic range of mowers for private homeowners; therefore quite a lot of people who follow rugby and Talking Rugby Union are potential customers.

The first Allett model was built 52 years ago by gardening engineer Reg Allett who later in 1965 designed, built and sold the first mower. Now Allett are the market leaders and are helping produce pristine pitches including at Twickenham during these Six Nations.
