South Africa captain Siya Kolisi insists the Springboks are ready to play the remainder of the Rugby Championship anywhere.

Jacques Nienaber's men are set to play Argentina in the second round of the tournament in Port Elizabeth on Saturday but New Zealand's decision to withdraw from the game against Australia in Perth along with the home matches against South Africa due to Covid restrictions.

With SANZAAR considering various options for the remaining matches including playing in the United Kingdom, South Africa have already offered to host the tournament with a final decision expected in the coming days.

“We would love to stay here, but we will play anywhere.

“There are two teams [South Africa and Argentina] here already.”

Assistant coach Mzwandile Stick is confident of South Africa being a successful host for the tournament citing the example of the recently concluded series against the British and Irish Lions.

“If you look at the facilities that we got in our country, they are very good stadiums to host any kind of an event,” Stick explained.

“We hosted big events before and there was the success of the British and Irish Lions tour when all the [Test] games were played in Cape Town.

“It’s a pity that our supporters can’t really enjoy the games in the stadiums, but we are living in challenging times.

“I think we got what it takes if it comes to South Africa.”
