All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has retained his trusted starting 15 for Saturday’s second Test against France in Wellington, making just two changes and urging his players to trust their skills amid unpredictable conditions.

With captain Scott Barrett sidelined by injury, Patrick Tuipulotu steps into the second row, and Caleb Clarke earns a wing place. This minimal alteration underscores Robertson’s goal of maintaining squad stability as the series heats up.

“Series is still on… continuity is a really big part of it,” Robertson said, explaining the logic behind sticking with familiar faces.

The forecast for wind and showers at Wellington Regional Stadium prompted Robertson to challenge his team to adapt without fear.

“You play fast, you think fast, you adapt fast, and we've got the skill set to do it... we’ll keep creating and if the southerly comes in off the Cook Strait, we’ll adapt and play into the wind and the rain as well.”

With Barrett out, vice-captain Ardie Savea takes over leadership duties. His role is pivotal in ensuring that the team’s vision remains cohesive, both on attack and defence.

Flanker-turned-blindside Tupou Vaa’i holds his place, rewarded for his impactful performance in Dunedin. Meanwhile, warm-up standout Timoci Tavatavanawai is included on the bench, ready to make his Test debut.
