Saracens have announced the signing of Gloucester prop Fraser Balmain ahead of the 2024/25 season.

A product of Newcastle Falcons Academy, Balmain made his senior debut with Leicester Tigers in 2010 and after making close to 100 appearances, he made a switch to Gloucester in 2017. He was also part of Leicester's 2013 Premiership title winning squad.

The 32-year-old played 112 times for Gloucester and helped them win the Premiership Rugby Cup earlier in the year. He also played for England in an encounter against Barbarians.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Saracens, and am very excited for a new challenge!," he told the club's official website.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is delighted with Balmain joining the club.

“Fraser is a player with plenty of experience and we are excited to see him add his quality to the squad for next season.

"He is very well respected across the league and we believe he can have a very strong impact here at Saracens.”

Saracens finished the 2023/24 season of the Premiership with a 20-22 semi-final defeat against Northampton Saints.
