Plymouth Albion have strengthened their squad ahead of the closing stages of the National One season by signing forward Huw Taylor.

Huw Taylor Joins Plymouth Albion Pack

The 29-year-old arrives at Brickfields after most recently playing in Australia with Hunter Wildfires in the Shute Shield. Standing 196cm tall and weighing 110kg, Taylor can play at lock or across the back row, adding versatility and experience to Albion’s forward options during the run-in.

Taylor began his professional career with Worcester Warriors, making his senior debut in 2014 and being part of the squad that won the British & Irish Cup that season.

Career Experience Across Multiple Leagues

The forward later moved to Dragons RFC in 2018, where he made more than 50 appearances across five seasons in the Pro14 and United Rugby Championship. He has also played in Major League Rugby for Seattle Seawolves before his recent spell in Australia.

At international age-grade level, Taylor represented England Under-18 and Under-20 and was part of the side that won the 2016 World Rugby Under-20 Championship, scoring in the final.

“I’m excited to get stuck in with the boys and hopefully help finish off what has already been an outstanding season," he told the club's official website.

I’ve worked closely with coaches Lamby and Jarv before at Worcester and Dragons respectively, so it’s exciting to start a new challenge with them down in Devon," he told the club's official website.

"Plymouth Albion has always been a great club with a big history, and it’s time to get them back where they belong, competing in the top six of the Championship.”
