Bath Rugby have announced that hooker Niall Annett has signed a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club until the summer of 2025.

The 32-year-old started his professional rugby career with Ulster in 2011 and made a switch to Worcester Warriors in 2014. Having made over 100 appearances for the Warriors, Annett joined Bath Rugby in 2022 and has made 38 appearances since then.

He also had represented Ireland Under 20 and Barbarians sides in the past.

I am delighted to sign a contract extension with the club. It’s something that my family and I are very excited about and we’re looking forward to spending some more time in Bath and at a club that we feel very at home at," he told the club's official website.

"I think the ambition has to be to try and continue to improve every year, we’ve shown from last year to this year that we’ve done that. Being here for another year, in that time the aim is to try and win some silverware.”

Bath Head of Rugby Johann van Graan is delighted with Annett committing his future to the club.

“Niall brings a wealth of experience. He is a brilliant team man but most importantly his performance on the pitch was very good through the last season," said van Graan.

"His execution when he comes onto the pitch has been exemplary and whenever he’s started a game specifically from a scrum and a lineout point of view, he adds so much to this group. I think how he has fitted into Bath Rugby, that’s the type of man that I want at our club.”
