National League 2 North - Club Watch - Celebrating 145 years with Preston Grasshoppers

A cracking win on Saturday 25th October 2014, in National 2 North, saw Preston Grasshoppers celebrate in fine style.

This is a club geographically close to Talking Rugby Union but also many of our friends play there or have played there.

The club house is a wonderful venue for events and celebrations. The club facilities have been used for Northern Schools Tournaments and a Floodlit Schools competition.

The impressive playing surface is frequently used by Lancashire RFU and BUCS.

There are famous rugby names around the club: the Greenwoods, the Sandersons, Paul Grayson and Steve Borthwick. Stand at the bar and look around at the club's history.

Young rugby players stepping up, Mike Haley and Sean Taylor for example. The new young Head Coach, Garth Dew is making an impact; the team is well drilled and playing a style of rugby that suits the players he has inherited.

The club have also been massive supporters of the Skofic 7s and there is a big thanks to John Peterson for his personal commitment - see you there in 2015.

The club have a thriving mini, junior and colts section which we have captured on film. There are also some cracking archive photos on Fylde Rugby's website.

We searched our image library to share with you some memories. Memories from the bar, from the pitch and around the grounds.

Happy Anniversary.
