Sione Kalamafoni and Sam Costelow scored tries as Scarlets defeated Dragons 20-3 in the 10th round of Pro14 at Parc y Scarlets.

This is fifth win for Scarlets in nine games as they are at second place in Conference B while Dragons are at fourth position in Conference A.

Scarlets made an attacking start in the game but were held back. They eventually got their first points when Josh Lewis kicked a 13th minute penalty goal after an infringement by Javan Sebastian.

Jake Ball, who announced he will be moving to Australia at the end of the ongoing season suffered an injury forcing him to leave the field in the 15th minute.

Around the half-hour mark, Dragons levelled the scores with a three-pointer from Dan Jones before Lewis missed a chance to restore Scarlets' lead as his penalty went wide.

At the stroke of half-time, came close to Dragons' try line after good work from Steffan Hughes and Angus O’Brien and eventually settled for a penalty goal from Jones as the teams went into the break with a 6-3 scoreline.

Scarlets were handed numerical advantage in the 55th minute when Matthew Screech was sin-binned for off-the ball tackle and the home side immediately responded with a touchdown from Kalamafoni making it 13-3.

As the full-time was nearing, Costelow dotted down for Scarlets as they completed a 20-3 win - their fifth in the tournament.
