Northampton prop Salesi Ma'afu has been cited for allegedly striking an opponent during Friday's Premiership match against London Irish.

The 31-year-old Australia international will appear before an RFU Disciplinary panel on Wednesday after being charged with hitting Irish prop Tom Court during the first half of Northampton's 15-9 victory at Franklin's Gardens.

Both Ma'afu, who is joining French giants Toulon in the summer, and Court were yellow-carded following an incident just before half-time.

Meanwhile, Bath lock Stuart Hooper has received a Level 1 citing for alleged stamping during Saturday's Premiership match against Saracens at Allianz Park.

An RFU statement read: "Hooper was given a Level 1 citing (also known as a Citing Commissioner Warning) following an act of foul play (stamping) which, in the Citing Commissioner's view, narrowly failed to meet the Red Card Test but necessitated further action."
