London Irish have confirmed the signing of lock Dan Leo from French club Perpignan.

The Samoan, who has been capped 34 times, will move to London Irish along with current Perpignan team-mate Luke Narraway, this summer.

Leo, 31, played in the 2007 and 2011 World Cups and played for Wasps between 2005 and 2010 before moving to France.

"Dan Leo is a seasoned campaigner and will be a huge asset to our squad next season," Irish rugby director Brian Smith said.

"He knows what it takes to win big games and titles from his time at Wasps, and he has a wealth of Test match experience.

"He's a big physical player, comfortable at lock and across the back-row. He adds further strength and depth to the pack, and we are delighted to have him on board."

London Irish currently sit in 10th place in the Aviva Premiership.
