Wallabies coach Les Kiss has named Isaac Henry at outside centre for Saturday’s Bledisloe Cup opener against New Zealand at Eden Park, with Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii retained on the left wing.

Isaac Henry returns to Wallabies midfield

Henry replaces the suspended Hunter Paisami in the only change to the starting XV that defeated South Africa 42-38 in Perth.

The 27-year-old has won four Test caps since making his Wallabies debut against Japan in Osaka on August 8 and will make his third Test start at Eden Park.

Paisami is unavailable after receiving a four-week suspension following his high tackle against South Africa.

Len Ikitau has recovered from the ankle issue he suffered against the Springboks and moves from outside centre to inside centre to partner Henry.

Suaalii retained on wing against All Blacks

Kiss has opted to keep Suaalii on the left wing after his performance against South Africa rather than returning the 25-cap back to the midfield.

The former rugby league player will form the back three alongside Max Jorgensen and full-back Tom Wright, with Ryan Lonergan and Ben Donaldson continuing as the half-back combination.

Australia’s starting forward pack is unchanged from the victory over the Springboks.

Wallabies make changes to Bledisloe bench

Tom Hooper and Taniela Tupou have returned to their European clubs, with the Bledisloe Cup Tests falling outside the international release window.

Massimo De Lutiis, Nick Champion de Crespigny and Josh Nasser are among the replacement forwards, while Declan Meredith has been included as Kiss switches from a 6-2 to a 5-3 forwards-backs bench split.

Kiss enters his first Bledisloe Cup series unbeaten through his opening five Tests as Wallabies head coach, with four victories and a draw.
