Glasgow Warriors and Scotland forward Rob Harley faces a battle to be fit in time for the start of the RBS 6 Nations after being ruled out for "several weeks" with ankle and knee injuries.

The flanker collided with David Denton during Glasgow's 16-6 win over Edinburgh last weekend, suffering injuries to both his left knee and left ankle.

Scotland open their 6 Nations campaign against France on 7th February and the 24-year-old now faces a race against time to recover and play a part.

"Following a scan at BMI Ross Hall Hospital it's been confirmed that Rob Harley has tissue damage to both his left knee and left ankle," a club statement read.

"However, he does not require surgery and is likely to be sidelined for several weeks.

"Several other players are undergoing further assessment and investigation.

"The club would like to thank the radiology department at BMI Ross Hall Hospital for all their help this week."
