Gloucester Rugby have announced that academy graduate Freddie Clarke has signed a contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.

A product of Gloucester Academy, he made his senior debut for the club in 2016 and has racked up 124 appearances for them.

He also played for London Scottish in the past and was named in the Premiership team of the season in the 2021/22 edition. He was called up to the England's training squad by Eddie Jones in June.

Gloucester Rugby head coach George Skivington is delighted with Clarke extending his stay at the club.

"Freddie is an integral part of the squad here. The quality he brings on the field with his set piece and ball carrying is invaluable for the team," said Skivington to the club's official website.

"He stepped into the second-row last season and has now really put marker down on that shirt and has become a very important player for us. I'm pleased that he'll be pulling on the Cherry & White shirt for years to come."

Gloucester are positioned eighth in the Gallagher Premiership table with a solitary win from two matches.
