England 37-18 Australia, Twickenham Stadium
Scorecard

England secured their sixth successive victory over Australia with a 37-18 win at Twickenham to complete a successful autumn series.

England and Eddie Jones will have learned a significant amount about the squad's depth with man of the match Kyle Sinckler, Mark Wilson and Joe Cokanasiga putting up impressive performance on Saturday evening.

Australia rallied from 13-3 down to go in level at the break before blistering tries from Elliot Daly and Cokanasiga followed by Owen Farrell touched down in the closing stages helping the hosts to secure a comfortable victory in the end.

It took just 133 seconds for England to take the lead as Jonny May scored from the resulting scrum feed to send the sold out crowd into frenzy.

The boot of Matt Toomua saw the Wallabies cut the margin to 7-3, however, England restored their 10 point advantage soon with Farrell's penalty making it 13-3.

Australia thought they had scored a 27-minute try through Haylett-Petty before referee Jaco Peyper saw the replays being shown on the big screen and ruled no try.

Later, a brilliant line taken by the gliding Israel Folau helped narrow the gap to three points on the 35th minute followed by Matt To'omua's conversion.

Peyper blundered again when he gave only a penalty for a 'no-arms' block by Farrell on Wallaby lock Izack Rodda preventing a likely try at the end of the first half. To'omua leveled the scores for the disappointed visitors.

England surged back in front with a try out of nothing, thanks to Daly, who pounced on Farrell’s offload to score on 44th minute with Farrell shortly adding the extras with the conversion kick.

The hosts went further in front when Cokanasiga brushed off opposite number in the 56th minute and effortlessly made his way to the tryline.

The result was sealed by Farrell with a 63rd minute penalty and a try four minutes from full time adding to the misery of the visitors.

Folau’s last minute try added respectability to the scoreboard as England finished 2018 with an important win.
