Japan are all set to announce Eddie Jones as their new head coach.

Jones had already coached Japan between 2012 and 2015 and had an impressive 2015 Rugby World Cup campaign having won three out of the four group stage matches but narrowly missed out on the chance to make it to the quarter-finals.

Following his stint with Japan, he moved to England as the head coach - a role he continued for seven years before switching to Australia.

Nevertheless, the Wallabies had a dismal World Cup campaign this year where they became the first ever Australian side to be eliminated in the opening round.

The 63-year-old recently attend a final interview in Tokyo last week with the Japan Rugby Football Union convinced about his appointment as the replacement for Jamie Joseph. The announcement is set to be officially made on Thursday according to media reports.

"If they [Japan] came to me and said, ‘Are you interested in coaching them?’, I’d definitely be interested," Jones said in an interview with Kyodo News last month.
