Dragons winger Ashton Hewitt is set to have a spell on the sidelines following a knee injury.
The 26-year-old sustained the blow during the recently concluded round-of-16 European Challenge Cup clash against Northampton Saints at Rodney Parade which Dragons went on to lose 39-43.
Dragons Director of Dragons Rugby Dean Ryan confirmed that Hewitt will go under the knife next week and will undergo rehabilitation.
“It’s incredibly disappointing news for Ashton who was playing some outstanding rugby for us," he told the club's official website.
“He will now undergo surgery early next week before starting his journey back from injury.
“We all send our best wishes to Ashton and wish him well with his recovery."
