Gloucester Rugby fly-half Danny Cipriani will attend an independent disciplinary hearing on Wednesday after he was charged by the Rugby Football Union for 'conduct prejudicial to the interests of the game'.

The decision follows after the England international was arrested in the early hours on Wednesday for an altercation with a doorman at the Royal Yacht Hotel in Saint Helier.

Cipriani was already fined £2,000 each by Jersey Magistrates' Court and Gloucester Rugby after he pleaded guilty to common assault and resisting arrest.

The hearing will take place in Bristol and will be chaired by Gareth Graham with Mike Curling and Olly Kohn at 18:30 local time.

Cipriani made a switch from Wasps to Gloucester ahead of the 2018/19 season and made his first start for England after 10 years during the recently concluded June series against South Africa.

Gloucester Rugby will face Northampton Saints at Kingsholm in the opening game of the Gallagher Premiership 2018/19 season on 1st September.
